Progressive pulmonary fibrosis

The study treatment being studied is BMS-986278. If you choose to participate in the study, you will receive either BMS-986278 or placebo twice a day (morning and evening dose, approximately 12 hours apart). The placebo looks like the real thing but contains no active study drug. In this study, neither you nor your study doctor will know which treatment you are receiving (i.e., blinded to study treatment), except in an emergency.

Abnormal wound healing response to lung injury is thought to be the cause of fibrotic lung diseases such as PPF. For unknown reasons, the normal process of wound healing can go out of control and results in producing excessive scar tissue in the lungs. BMS-986278 is a study treatment designed to prevent this out-of-control response.
