COPD

The purpose of this study (called an extension study) is to test the effects, good or bad, of astegolimab when given over a longer period of time to participants with COPD.  In this study, you will receive astegolimab, regardless of whether you have received astegolimab and/or placebo (which looks like a drug but has no active ingredient) in your parent study.

Astegolimab is a monoclonal antibody that blocks activities of interleukin-33 (IL-33), a protein that is released from airway cells in response to viral infections, allergens, irritants, and other triggers of COPD exacerbations.  Astegolimab is an experimental drug, which means it is not approved for the treatment of COPD.

• The trial will run until the medication is commercially available.
• Participants will be seen by the trial staff every 2 weeks to be given astegolimab treatment.
• After the first few treatments, the participant may choose to be given astegolimab at home (or another suitable location) instead of at the trial clinic.
