The purpose of this research study is to explore an investigational treatment with inhaled drug combination of Fluticasone Propionate and Albuterol Sulfate (Fp/ABS) used to relieve symptoms of asthma, for the prevention of severe asthma attacks compared to treatment with standard “rescue” asthma medications.

This is a double-blind research study, which means neither you nor the study team can choose or will know which treatment you will receive. This is done to make sure the results of the research study cannot be influenced by anyone. However, this information will be given to the study doctor if it becomes necessary for your safety. 

During your participation in this study, you may continue using your usual (regular) maintenance asthma medications but would be required to exclusively use the study drug inhaler as rescue medication.

• The trial will run for a minimum of 24 weeks but may range up to 35 months
• Minimum 5 clinic visits at your chosen centre in Midland or Nedlands, plus two phone visits
